"Ye also, helping together by prayer for us..." II Cor 1:11

Dear Ron Weber Prayer Warriors,

Christmas greetings from Brazil in the name of the Lord.

Recently we visited my brother David and family who moved to Pacajus this year.  They are renting a spacious interior house with porches on all sides surrounded by a yard of white sand.  Some of you may remember that my parents lived in Pacajus back in 1955-1963.  Eventually, the church in Horizonte grew more rapidly so the family moved there and the work in Pacajus dissolved.  Now 50 years later, the Lord has led David back to establish a church in Pacajus.  People who rejected the Lord many years ago are now having a second chance to hear the gospel.  Pray for the salvation of Luiz and Maria in their 80’s who still refuse to give up their idols to trust Christ.

Ron preached in three open-air services in little parks in various locations in Pacajus.  The children came to sit u close on plastic chairs that were set up but adults sat in their own chairs on the sidewalks of their homes.  While our father, Dale Johnson, worked by himself, David has the assistance of church members from Horizonte.  Sr. Placido, formerly from Horizone, is building a home near the area where they plan to start a church.  A Bible study is being started in his unfinished house.  They also go to the market place on Sunday mornings to give out literature and sell Bibles.

The pastor of Central Baptist Church in Mossoro resigned and we were concerned about leadership in the church as several men  have moved away and others left.  Praise God a new generation of leaders is emerging.  Four young men, all university students in their early 20’s were chosen as firt and second church secretaries and first and second treasurers.  Charles, Johyson, Tiago were in involved in Awana seven years ao as clubbers and then became Awana leader.  Stenio came later as an Awana leader.  Pray for Andrew, the moderator, who is willing to disciple these young men and train them for new responsibilities.  Pray also for the church as they seek a pastor.
